Describe how RPDM works and how
RPDM differs from the other 3 decision strategies discussed in Flin and
Arbuthnot. Then, discuss the three levels of situational awareness and
critically assess the relationship between levels of situational
awareness and naturalistic decision making (NDM) in crisis. In the view
of the statement made by Klein that “decisions were based on previous
knowledge and expertise that allowed experienced decision makers to
recognise a situation as typical and recall the apporpriate response to
it” how could new leaders be developed who lack experience and
opportunities allowed by years of participation in critical events?
