The purpose of this assignment is to measure your ability to write collegially, clearly, and succinctly; to assess your ability to integrate the topic into your discussion; and to assess your ability to use and cite credible and relevant sources to support your ideas.
Using the “Capstone-Essay Prompt” located in the “Resources for Assignment” Module under the Course Content area in this course, you will write an essay. Please read the prompt before you begin writing your essay. The essay will discuss the meaningful ways in which education has enhanced your academic, professional, or personal life. There will be a deduction of substantial points for not addressing the prompt or not focusing on the theme of the essay. You may need to conduct outside or background research to provide an essay of substance. Take time to review your essay writing skills to ensure you are writing a proper essay.
You will submit no less than a FULL three-page essay, doubled-spaced, 12-font, and please put your name on your paper. The paper is submitted to the D2L drop box. In the “Resources for Assignment” Module under the Course Content is an “Essay Writing Rubric”. Using the rubric should guide you in your writing, help you remain focused on your topic, and alert you to how I am grading your work. Please follow the “Basic APA Guidelines” in the “Resources for Assignment Module” and proofread carefully. Cite your sources via in-text citations and be sure to provide an APA-format style reference page. Your grade will be significantly lowered if your paper has numerous spelling/grammatical errors.
Do not stray beyond 3-4 pages. This assignment is about you writing clearly, concisely, and coherently, within the parameters set. This is not a research paper. I want to see if you can capture your thoughts on paper in a logical and organized fashion. Attached is a sample essay of how the paper is suppose to look and the rubric.
